Donald Trump claims he would go to jail to defend free speech rights, but he stops short of opposing the gag order

donald trump going to jail

Saturday was, to say the least quite hectic for Donald Trump when he announced that he would somewhat happily come to jail in defence of his free-speech rights. However, at the same time, he would for sure not do what the New York Judge had kindly and explicitly asked him to stay away from.

Since Trump is subject to a limited gag order concerning the so-called New York hush money criminal case, he is banned from disclosing any information that could be helpful to the people involved in the case including witnesses, jurors and prosecutors other than a judge.

The attacks were brutal and personal — the judge presiding over the case (Juan Merchan), the judge of the civil fraud case (Arthur Engoron) and the federal judge who presided over a civil defamation case (Lewis Kaplan) were personally maligned, but witnesses and other court officials were completely ranged upon!

“If this Partisan Hack wants to put me in the “clink” for speaking the open and obvious TRUTH, I will gladly become a Modern Day Nelson Mandela — It will be my GREAT HONOR,” Trump wrote in the post.

“Imagine being so self-centred that you compare yourself to Jesus Christ and Nelson Mandela all within the span of little more than a week: that’s Donald Trump for you,” Harris said in a statement.

The posts released not a few hours before, were followed by a fundraiser of the Trump campaign to take place in the exclusive night Palm Beach, where they intended a net profit of $50 million for John Paulson’s residence.

Biden raised more money in the matching round and was ahead within the first day of the event.

An expensive invitation for the sum of $250,000, and the cap amount of $814,600 recorded by the Washington Post, are required by a guest to be able to sit at the same table with Trump.

On Saturday, Joe Biden`s presidential campaign announced that they raised more than 187 million dollars in the first trimester of the year, over 90 million dollars of which were acquired during all of last month.

“This historic fundraising operation continues to break monthly grassroots fundraising records through the first three months of 2024 — an indication of enthusiasm, strength, and Team Biden-Harris’ historic resources heading into the general election,” campaign officials said in a statement. “This first quarter raise is nearly double the unprecedented 2023 fourth-quarter haul of $97 million.”

It added: “While Trump cozies up to billionaires tonight to raise his money, Team Biden-Harris’ first-quarter haul was driven by the strength of our grassroots support, which continues to grow month over month.”
